Scientific journals dealing with government censorship
Two studies, both composed with the aid of government funding, could be censored by the government. This is in the name of "national security" and on the worry that bioterrorists could use the info in scientific journals to produce an attack. Federal subsidy on graduate loans to be cut
Federal student loans come with a lot of strings connected. For all the strings, though, the loans are intended to help encourage education and advanced degrees. As of 2012, however, graduate loans will no longer have their interest subsidized, which will shift responsibility for paying $18.1 billion over 10 years to students. Mother Of Five Murdered
New details have been released in the murder of a Deer Park mother of five.
Chanin Denice Starbuck, 42, was found in the bedroom of her rental home at 509 N. Reiper St., apparently a victim of strangulation and sexual assault. Her ex-husband, Clay Duane Starbuck, 47, is now being accused of killing her and positioning her body to mislead police.
Aussie collar bomber captured by feds
Fifty-year-old Paul Douglas Peters, the suspect in the Aussie adolescent collar bomb case, has been captured by federal authorities, states the Guardian. Peters was taken into custody while hiding at the home of his ex-wife in suburban Louisville, Ky. Authorities indicate that a slip-up by the accused - leaving an email address on the collar bomb ransom note - proved instrumental in his capture.
